The Nine Person Relay competition requires a minimum of five team members and a maximum of nine. The Great Floridian's unique three lap format creates a total of nine segments of the race; three for the swim, three for the bike, and three for the run. If you have nine team members, each team member would complete one segment of the race. You can have as few as five members on your team, allowing select team members to complete multiple segments. Each of the three swim legs is .8 miles, the three bike segments are approximately 37 miles each, and each of the three run segments are approximately 8.7 miles long. All teams members can run through the finish line together!
Think of the GFT Nine Person Relay as the Ragnar Relay of triathlon. It's a great team building event for friends, family and co-workers. Each team is allowed to have a 10x10 tent at the race venue in close proximity to the run course and finish line, for your own personal cheer zone!
